File upload

This section walks you through how to create and customize file upload option with EXPO

File upload is a premium-only feature to show “Upload image” options on the Shopify product page. This helps your customers upload their own images and artwork to customize the product item.

How to get started

  1. Visit Options tab in EXPO app
  2. Create a new option and set its type as File Upload
  3. Add conditional display for this file upload field (this is optional, if there’s no conditions, file upload option will always show on the assigned product page)
  4. Save changes, preview, and publish the option set.

How it works on the product page

Below you will find a gif image demonstrating:

  • how a customer uses this file upload feature to upload their own custom image, logo, or other graphics
  • how uploaded files show at the product line item on Cart page

On checkout page, uploaded image shows as a link, which once clicked, it opens the image in a new tab for the customer to review it.

In admin view, go to the order details and you can download the image.

Edit file upload notice and other text

You can also edit the text used in the file upload field.
